We prioritize a "Local-First" architecture. Most of the processing happens directly on your device. However, to maintain and improve the service, we collect specific types of data:

A. Information You Provide

Since WinMPX is a "No-Signup" application, we do not require you to create an account. We do not collect your email, password, or payment information.

If you contact us via email for support, we will only use your email address to respond to your inquiry.

B. Automated Telemetry (Anonymous)

When you use WinMPX, we automatically collect anonymous technical data to help us fix bugs and understand app usage. This includes:

• Device Information: Operating System type (e.g., Windows 10/11) and App Version.
• Usage Statistics: Aggregate counts of actions (e.g., "Download started," "Format selected: MP3").
• Network Status: Success/Failure rates of API connections.

C. What We DO NOT Collect

• We do NOT collect the specific URLs or titles of the videos you download. Your consumption habits remain private.
• We do NOT upload your downloaded files to our servers. All video/audio conversion happens locally on your machine using FFmpeg.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

• App Improvement: To identify which features are most popular and prioritize development (e.g., "90% of users prefer MP3 over M4A").
• Stability: To monitor crash rates and fix technical issues.

4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

• Cloud Infrastructure: We use Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) as our primary infrastructure provider. Data is processed at the "Edge" and stored in secure, distributed databases (Cloudflare D1).
• Encryption: All data transmitted between the WinMPX application and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2/1.3 (HTTPS).
• Local Storage: The application uses a local SQLite database (winmpx.db) on your computer to store your preferences and history. This local data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

WinMPX interacts with third-party platforms (e.g., YouTube) to function. Please be aware that when you connect to these platforms, you are subject to their respective privacy policies:

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Anonymous telemetry data is retained for a period of 12 months for trend analysis and then deleted or permanently anonymized.
